E.W. (Ted) Robak
Ted has participated in operations and forest management research and development projects in Ireland, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Thailand, Spain and India. He has managed Integrated Forest Management System design and development projects in Thailand, India (Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh) and Spain (Murcia and Galicia). In Galicia, Ted also led a team that designed sustainable forest management strategies and processes for the regional government. He has acted as a consultant for a NATO Science for Stability research and development project in Portugal and to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization on a National Forest Resources Monitoring project in China. In 2004 he led a team of researchers and consultants undertaking analyses related to the Canada/US Software Lumber Dispute. In recent years he has overseen the development of a forest operations optimization system and its use in three pilot studies in eastern Canada. Ted’s main rofessional and research interests are focused on forest operations management (analysis, planning and control, modeling and optimization), Sustainable Forest Management and Rural Development.
